Its SUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMER

Well that was a fun weekend of hot weather. Hope everyone in the UK enjoyed their summer because that's it for another year. Anyway wifi on the train is broken (again) so can’t work on personal project. Therefore, here I am writing my blog.

So, let’s see what I have been up to so far this year. See last blog for previous update

Animation - Character

After my initial dip into character animation with Buddy the Easter bunny I decided to expand further and do a series of short animations / gifs on a specific subject. So, I picked the best subject cupcakes can buy, myself. More specifically my typical day and the fun times of commuting.

So far I have 4 sequences and started working on a 5th. and I have another 3 planned

1-Alarm

2-Walk

3 - Station

4 - Tube

The husband says that I am not that happy in the morning so they aren’t accurate. However, I am a delight in the morning (Disclaimer: do not approach me first thing in the morning until I have had my tea. You have been warned)

I have discovered that I don’t like animating hair. However I have lots of it so it needs to be featured.

I have learnt a lot more about scene set up in After Effects as well as character prepping in Illustrator so these sequences should improve as I go along. I post regular updates to social media so feel free to connect.

Update: Wifi still not working.

Modelling – Low Poly

Well this didn’t go to plan. So I made this simple scene and I just don’t like it. Looks rushed and way too simple. So it won’t be making it to my main showcase page. But why is it here? It’s still a learning curve, I believe in sharing the good and the bad. I find it hard to believe that all artists projects are perfect first time.

Rotating scene

I basically rushed it and didn’t really plan the turn table fully. Lesson learned. Better planning. I do however like Planty in the corner. He looks like he is having fun.

I also meant to start sketching out lower polygon scenes for the game ‘Sleuth’

I’ll admit it

I have been a naughty panda. After I made the last post and I forgot about it

I do have an excuse that my pencils and sketchbook are at the office of my current client. Not excusable is my tablet has a digital pen and digital sketch book.

But on plus side I am on a diet and if I reach my goal in 6 weeks (its a 12 week diet) I am going to invest in an online Unity course. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Answers on a postcard please.

Update: Half way home and still no wifi. I am also hungry!!!!!

Modelling - High Poly

So previously I was working on my elephant. However, it requires more time than I currently have right now so I am falling back on my comfort zone which is scene modelling inspired by an image I saw on Facebook. WIP below.

I really do need to focus on organic modelling but I think I jumped in too far doing an elephant. Should start simpler before jumping in on something so complex as an elephant. For now my relaxing library scene is slowly taking shape.

Update: OK now I am just wasting data looking at twitter and watching animal videos. My name is Charlotte and I am an internet junkie now where are the doughnuts…

So that's it for another 3 months. If you have enjoyed this and other musings from me please let me know. If you have doughnuts then please let me have your address. If you have salad, it can only be a friendship thing.

Feel free to connect with me on social media

Until next time internet minions, be good. Who knows I might have train internet next time.
